Be Featured In The Next Book!

Author Z.W. Mohr and illustrator Aaron Damon Porter are currently working on the 4th book in the Desdemona’s Dreams Series, The Nightmare Circus. They’re inviting the children of New Orleans schools (ages 6 – 13) to be a part of it by creating a dream creature for the story over Winter break. The winner will win $500 in art supplies for their school, a copy of the series for themselves and the school, and have their creature, bio, and photo featured in the book.

Desdemona’s Dreams is a series about the importance of imagination, to empower children to use their minds to solve problems, the value of friendship, and the adventure of learning what we are capable of when we believe in ourselves.

The Dream Creature Creation Contest will run until January 31, 2020, and the winner will be announced on the morning of February 7th, 2020. Here’s how the contest works:

  1. Imagine something silly, scary, ridiculous, wondrous, covered in hair, entirely bald, with all the horns and all the teeth, or none at all. It will be part of the 4th book in the Desdemona’s Dreams series, The Nightmare Circus. We put no limitations on your imagination for this dream creature.
  2. Give it a name.
  3. Draw a picture of your creature.
  4. Tell us at least one interesting fact about your creature.

Example:   FLOPPY

Floppy is a Rainbow Snergdor that creates rainbows with his big floppy feet whenever he does the Rainbow Snergdor Dance. He also loves mint cherry snow cones.
